A project is one barn’s worth of footage. Each upload of photos becomes a batch inside a project, and each finished batch produces a report.
Start one with Create New Project on your dashboard, or Create Project in the Navigate menu. It opens in a new browser tab so you do not lose whatever you were doing.
First: how do you want to upload?
On a Mac or Windows computer you will be asked this first:
How do you want to upload? Photos on an SD card? The desktop app is the fastest way to get them to us.
- FeedBunk AI Compressor (shown as “BunkAi Desktop app”, and marked Recommended) — shrinks the photos on your computer first. Much faster, and resumes automatically if interrupted.
- Upload in browser — the web uploader, right here. Works anywhere, but large photo sets take a lot longer.
If you already have the Compressor installed, just open it on your computer — you do not need to create the project here at all, the app creates it for you.
On a phone, or on Linux or ChromeOS, this screen is skipped and you go straight to the browser uploader, because there is no installer for those systems.
Then: project details
Three fields:
- Farm Name — required. For example, Sunny Acres.
- Site Name — optional. For example, North Field. Use it if you have more than one location under the same farm name.
- Barn Name — required. For example, Barn 3.
These three become the project’s name everywhere in the app, so pick names you will still recognise in six months when you have a dozen projects. If you have several bunks in one barn, put that in the barn name — Barn 3 East and Barn 3 West — so the reports do not get confused with each other.
Click Continue to Upload › when both required fields are filled.
There is no date field
You will not be asked what dates the footage covers. We read the capture time out of every individual photo, so the date range is worked out for you and shown back to you before you confirm.

Adding more footage later
You do not create a new project every time. To add another card’s worth of photos to a barn you already have, open the project from your Projects list and add a batch to it. That keeps all of a barn’s footage together.
One thing to know: once a batch has finished processing it is closed for good, and new photos go into a new batch. Batches never move backwards through the pipeline.
