What you see instead of payment
When you submit an upload, rather than the payment window you get:

Click Start processing and the upload begins. That is the only difference — everything after it is identical.
The struck-through figure is there so you can see what the batch would have cost. It is not a bill and nothing is taken.
No card required
You do not need to add a payment method to use a beta account. Settings → Payments will simply show no saved cards, which is fine.
In your payment history
Beta batches still appear in Settings → Payments → Payment History so you have a complete record, tagged Beta — complimentary. The amount is zero.
Everything else is the same
Beta is not a limited trial version. You get the full pipeline, the full report, all the correction tools, and the same support. The only thing switched off is the charging.
From the desktop app
The Compressor recognises it too. Where it would normally quote a figure, it says there is no charge during the beta and goes straight from confirming your batch details to uploading.
When the beta ends
We will tell beta farms first, and give you notice before anything changes. Nothing switches to paid without warning, and you will always see a total and approve it before any upload is charged — see How charges work.
Am I on the beta?
The quickest check is to start an upload. If you see Review & start processing and Due today $0.00, you are.
